Powfu featuring the UK singer Beabadoobee, sets the Philippine music charts ablaze with the success of his latest single. Of course, you probably heard their release on several platforms like those popular TikTok trend videos. Through those video which the person filming confesses their feelings, it eventually accompanied the growth of the song.

In line with that, the enormous attention poured on video-sharing platform TikTok with over 3 million videos to date. Thanks to countless covers, and renditions from different Filipino artists including a ‘Chinarot’  version that gained more than 8 million YouTube views, and a ‘Tagalog’ version by upcoming Filipino rapper Cesar $emento.

To tell you, the Canadian breakout artist recently held the top spot of the Spotify Philippines Viral 50 for five consecutive weeks before it dropped to its current position of No. 4. With its timely lyrics, chill vibes, and low-key appeal beats, there’s no doubt that this song will burst out in the lo-fi hip-hop scene. What’s not to like with song, right?

The explosive new track also rack up impressive numbers continually on Spotify Philippines Top 200 while also climbing with an incredible momentum on iTunes PhilippinesTop 100 Charts. More so, the track was produced by Otterpop and co-written by Powfu (Isaiah Faber), Beabadoobee (Beatrice Laus) and Oscar Lang.

Who’s Powfu?

While still in high school, Powfu started weaving songs and recording in the basement of his parents’ home. The 21-year-old Canadian funnily steal his dad’s mic and ended up purchasing himself a laptop as recording which became his favorite hobby. He used Soundcloud in releasing his music and made his image and sound. Fortunately, his genre that varies from chill-lo-fi to hype-punk, his songs gain millions of streams over multiple platforms.
