Welcome to the latest edition of U DO U’s Top Rising Asian Artists! Today, we’re presenting you with a set of fresh names that is on the rise in music. Whether it’s not your first time to vote, we are encouraging everyone to log in first before they cast their votes. Know that you can also vote ten times a day.
To give you a little refresher, we’re opening up our platform to not just the OPM artists but also to artists in our neighbouring countries whose talents can no longer be denied. Maybe you guys are not aware of this but there’s a slew of great Asian artists who deserve to take that bigger platform.
Now, let’s see who will claim the Top Spot for this week! Polls will be open until October 9 at 6 pm, and we’ll release the full run-down of our Top Rising Asian Artists later that night! Watch out for the results this coming Friday, October 9!

Another K-pop band to stan? Well, you better dive into the groove of this boy group, ‘Stray Kids‘ under JYP Entertainment who debuted last March 2018. Dancing around wildly with feisty moves and expressing their hip-hop to cute boyfriend style, there’s no doubt that their level of confidence and clarity will help them to be one of those Super K-pop groups.
To give you a little refresher, before this band debuted, they were part of a competition show also called Stray Kids. They started offering tracks as a nine-piece boy band but now officially, they are 8 members due to a member leaving last 2019.
One of their unique and conceptualized songs is ‘My Pace’. It flaunts meaningfully patterned verses that everyone could relate to. Simply put, Stray Kids absolutely boost pop-style tracks with sharp verses now more than their past cute boyfriend concept. Known for his melancholic, heartstrings-tugging songwriting, Casey Luong or more famously known as Keshi found his passion in music at the age 12 from his grandfather, who possessed a “fat classical guitar” and a music book in Vietnamese.
Then, he taught himself to play and developed a deep passion for music. His influences in music are All-time low, John Mayer, Frank Ocean, The 1975, Drake, and Bryson Tiller.
Moreover, the rising Lo-fi Hip-hop graduate is continuously slating the digital platforms with his recent releases and online interviews. His creativity totally reaches global fandom with his bedroom lo-fi beats with a blend of guitar-driven sound.
Under the screen name Mxmtoon, Maia is an American-Chinese who began secretly posting composed ukulele songs online, most of which she recorded in her bedroom. The diary-spawned tracks absolutely put her on the spotlight and gracefully grow with her whimsical original songs.
Barely three years of her stay in the music industry, Maia continuously building her independent, D.I.Y. mini-empire that showcased her works that tends to pull us out of reality or lead us to some wistful moments.
With her astounding conversational folk-pop simplicity, her fans are very grateful for her existence as she beautifully penned tracks. In line with that, Mxmtoon just released her new EP, ‘dawn’ with a very refreshing outlook as it draws us to her growth as an artist and her two-part EP project along with its other-half, ‘dusk’ will set to slate digital platforms in just matter of time.
We are betting that, all of her fans are waiting excitedly now! We cannot really wait for ‘Dusk’ this coming October! Yay!
One of the rising Kpop soloists in this generation is giving us a glimpse of her magical world. To tell you, YooA is definitely not a new name in Kpop industry. She was one of the lead vocalists and main visual for 2015-debuted girl group Oh My Girl.
Speaking of her solo career, she recently dropped her debut mini-album “Bon Voyage” and the music video for the title track of the same name. To be honest everybody fell in love with her whimsical fairytale-like of her music video that showcased her prowess of being a singer who has the luscious ginger hair.

One of the UK’s most exciting breakthrough artists, Beabadoobee who is also a half-Pinay has been recognized in global stardom with her bedroom pop songs. Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Bea Kristi began recording music as Beabadoobee in 2017.
In fact, at a young age, Beabadoobee has built her huge, dedicated Gen-Z fan base with her flawless output of confessional bedroom pop songs and DIY aesthetic. And her visual is absolutely awesome!
Her first track, ‘Coffee’ gathered hundreds of thousands of streams in a matter of days, through a fan-uploaded video, and has since taken on new life as a sample in Powfu’s TikTok and worldwide chart-dominating hit ‘Death Bead (Coffee For Your Head)’. Today, she’s ready to face the world by releasing her upcoming album, ‘Fake It Flowers‘ that will be slating digital platforms this coming October!
If there’s a boy band that stunned us all with their continuous climb, it would be SB19! The P-pop sensation, SoundBreak 19 or SB19 rose to stardom through their catchy singles ‘Go Up’ and ‘Alab’.
What’s more, the group ranked in 2nd place in the world’s leading social chart for most active musical artists, Billboard Social 50 Chart. Because of their achievements, SB19 has been featured at US Forbes Magazine for its attempt to bring Filipino music across the globe.
Comprised by Ken, Josh, Sejun, Justin, and Stell, this band is truly working hard in achieving their dreams through conquering the international stage and we couldn’t be any prouder for these boys!

Of course, with the doze of Kpop music that makes the world dance with their chart-topper tracks, one of the rising music artists in Korea that should be on your radar this year is (G)-idle. On the heels of their critically acclaimed mini album I trust, they add another dimension to their tracks with their English versions that seriously made them took international advancement.
To tell you, the global phenomenon continually surprises listeners with their unpredictable and undeniable genre-breaking anthem. Recently, K-Pop sensation, (G)I-DLE enthusiastically received a nomination for their “Oh my god” music video in the BEST K-POP category at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.
Aside from that, they have also released their brand-new song entitled ‘DUMDi DUMDi’ that obviously can turn your dullest moments into a brimming felicity.
Of course, we will not forget TXT as one of the on-the-rise K-pop band that is currently taking our hearts with their boy-next-door visuals!
In case you don’t know yet, they are BTS’ labelmates! TXT or Tomorrow X Together is BigHit Entertainment’s latest boy group. And just recently, the five-member boy group debuted with their first mini-album, ‘The Dream Chapter: STAR’. The group consists of Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai.

Serving us the taste of new wave of Asian pop music, Jannine Weigel is definitely ready for its moment in the spotlight. One of the Thai Superstars, Weigel is an artist who connects on a universal scale with her fans.
What’s more, her infectious personality has already helped her reach eye-popping numbers on social media. She also has already had a successful career as an actor, model and influencer. What’s not to like, right? But singing has always been her biggest passion.
