Troye Sivan’s New Single “Revelation” Featured on Boy Erased

Troye Sivan’s music is always a gift to the LGBTQ+ community. After the aesthetically pleasing black and white music video for Heaven, the Pop singer’s new track Revelation can be heard over the heart-wrenching trailer for the drama Boy Erased which he also stars in.

It was August last year when Troye Sivan confirmed his role on Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased. The film is based on Garrard Conley’s Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family. The Blue Neighborhood artist expressed his enthusiasm and excitement over working for a film that would probably play a huge relevance for the LGBTQ+ community.

In the trailer released last July 17, Troye Sivan joins Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Flea, Academy Award Winners Nicole Kidman and Russel Crowe, and Academy Award Nominee as well as the film’s lead Lucas Hedges. The trailer follows the Hedges’ character as he is sent to a program for conversion therapy after admitting to his conservative family about him thinking about men. Troye Sivan, being iconic as he always is, is briefly shown giving some good advice to Hedges’ character.

“Tell them whatever they want to hear. Play the part, unless you really think you can change – or even want to.”

Troye Sivan lending his talents on acting and singing just shows how passionate he is for this project. However, the full version of the song is yet to be released. The soft flow of the song, written by Troye Sivan, Leland, and Jónsi, provides a perfect backdrop for the dramatic storyline slowly unfolding in the trailer. We’ll have to wait a little while longer though to fully indulge our ears on the young artist’s new track.
