So here’s the official line up of the songs that made it on our Top 10 Weekly!

1. Ikaw Ang Aking Tahanan by Orange and Lemons

Open in Spotify

As usual, we can always depend on Orange and Lemons to deliver great songs. And ‘Ikaw Ang Aking Tahanan’ is no exception. It reminds us of old Filipino movies with song numbers, think FPJ movies. In the beginning, we are instantly hit with a fresh beat that gives off a sweet and romantic yet fun vibe.
Overall, Orange and Lemons channeled their “electro-acoustic roots and love for classic indie pop and 80s guitar pop with ample keyboard embellishments.” And making their sound “much sweeter, bigger, and better.” And that’s why ‘Ikaw Ang Aking Tahanan’ by Orange and Lemons tops our Top 10 Songs of the Week!

2. Fall In Love With You by BRWN and Jannine Weigel

Open in Spotify

It may sound cliche, but ‘Fall In Love With You’ by BRWN and Jannine Weigel is basically about falling in love unexpectedly. It sounds like the plot of every romantic-comedy film ever made, right? But then again, there’s a reason people still love romantic-comedies. And in the same way, we can’t help but fall in love with this song. Its catchy chorus has us hooked, and all the electro-jazz riffs are just an added bonus.

And besides, it’s the holiday season—this isn’t the time to be cynical. It’s the season to celebrate and spread joy and love. And that’s exactly what ‘Fall In Love With You’ by BRWN and Jannine Weigel is all about, celebrating love when you least expect it.

3. jpnzy by Just Hush and Delly Flay

Open in Spotify

Just Hush is officially back on our radar! So the last time we’ve featured him here at U Do U was when he collaborated with James Reid on ‘Fiend’. And boy, did that song check our boxes! But now Just Hush is back with a new single along with Delly Flay entitled, ‘jpnzy’.

And it’s all about missing someone, except that someone doesn’t miss you back. And is still hurt and focusing on all the wrong things that happened in your relationship. And yet, that person is still in your mind. Listen to ‘jpnzy’ by Just Hush and Delly Flay if you can’t help but think of that someone too.

4. Hindi Nag-iba by Ivy of PPOP Generation

In the first part of ‘Hindi Nag-iba’, you could clearly hear Ivy’s youth through her cute singing voice. However, her maturity also peeks through when the track takes it up a notch, and it’s really remarkable.

Moreover, it’s wonderful how the song itself talks about a journey of a young heart trying to come up with a mature decision. Somehow, almost all of us have gone through that one way or another, and honestly? Relatable AF.

5. Huwag Kang Matakot by Reese Lansangan

Who doesn’t love new renditions of songs? New renditions allows us to explore other aspects of the song that we didn’t quite catch the first time around. And when Reese Lansangan offered up her rendition of the Eraserheads’ classic, ‘Huwag Kang Matakot’, we were awestruck!

It was amazing how the song sounded even more romantic than the original. The slowed-down delivery of the lyrics surely added to it. But it was the way Reese Lansangan let go of each word that we could definitely categorize as crooning. So give ‘Huwag Kang Matakot’ by Reese Lansangan a listen today!

6. Silent Night by Elle Sebastian

Are you looking to update your Christmas playlists? Then you should definitely check out Elle Sebastian’s version of ‘Silent Night’. The classic Christmas carol is given an acoustic update, with an added bonus of Elle Sebastian’s serene vocals.

ICYDK, Elle Sebastian’s talent isn’t limited to awesome covers. So if you like what you’re hearing, you should check out her singles ‘Bahaghari’ and ‘Panahon’.

7. Walang Tayo Song by Ken Liwanag

Almost relationship? Pa-fall? It’s not you it’s me? Well, we’ve got a song that can relate!
Walang Tayo Song by Ken Liwanag.

Overall, we loved the catchy lyrics of ‘Walang Tayo Song’ by Ken Liwanag. And not to mention the amount of truth that it holds about today’s dating scene. But personally, for us, we would rather know if the relationship is going anywhere or not. So that we don’t end up wasting any more time. It’s like ripping a band-aid off, the worst part is over when you finally get it over with.

8. Inside Out by Lions and Acrobats and Leanne Mamonong

Okay, so full disclosure we loved, loved, loved the MV for ‘Inside Out’ by Lions and Acrobats! And the song itself kind of reminds us of ‘Jenny’ by The Click Five. Tell us we’re not the only ones!

And obviously, we can’t ignore the fact that Leanne had a part in the MV. Now, if you’re a fan of the band you probably know that Leanne Mamonong from Leanne and Naara is dating the vocalist, Icoy Rapadas. And it was just so cute and cheesy (don’t worry we love cheese) that their scene was them having dinner but they’re on their phones, video calling each other! We don’t get if it’s a play on LDR (long-distance relationship) or what, let us know, will you?

9. Sana Na Lang by Yeng Constantino and Gray Sky Sun

Once again, Pop Rock Princess Yeng Constantino is showing off her powerful vocals with a brand new track.

For a while, we have forgotten about the title ‘Pop Rock Princess’. However, with a new track by Yeng Constantino along with her friends from Gray Sky Sun, we are reminded that she really rules the said genre. It’s been a long time since we have heard her angsty vocals in a song, but she proves that she is royalty of pop-rock in the Philippines with her new song ‘Sana Na Lang’.

Before we were ever ready to hear Yeng’s new song, we honestly had flashbacks of ‘Siguro’. We really missed hearing her voice with guitar-heavy instrumentals and upon listening to ‘Sana Na Lang’, we were surely satisfied as hell.

10. Holding on to a Smile by Y ARA

Open in Spotify

As always Y ARA makes us believe in loving again. Their songs always make us feel the joys that only having someone to love can bring. So despite our very cynical views on life and love, Y ARA makes us believe that true love exists.

Especially when they sing, “‘Cause I’m holding on to a smile and I’ll be there for you when you cry tonight.” Because it makes us picture the kind of love that chooses to look and hold on to the bright side of things. And that no matter what they go through, the pain or the challenges, they’ll be there holding on. Because they believe in the kind of love that they have. And it just makes us say, sana all!
