Music has been in our lives since the dawn of man. Over time, it went through a lot of changes until different genres were formed. One of the most notable genres is emo pop-punk. It started during the 1990s and grew in popularity in the early 2000s. 



Emo Pop Punk or Emo Pop is a hybrid genre that combines emo and pop-punk together. A music style with more straightforward songs and hook-filled choruses is defining feature of Emo Pop. Now let’s start with the list!

Avril Ramona Lavigne is a musician, songwriter, and actress from Canada. She is also known as the “Pop Punk Queen”. She also made the songs, Sk8er Boi, Girlfriend, and What the hell.

8. Bring Me to Life – Evanescence 

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995. This song won a Grammy as the best rock song in 2004.

7. Miserable at Best – Mayday Parade

FM Static is a Canadian Christian pop-punk duo based in Toronto, Ontario. I made a rule of one song per band but I made an exception because these songs were some of the foundations of why emo pop became famous. Other famous songs were Nice Piece of Art, Definitely Maybe and Take Me As I Am.

My Chemical Romance (commonly acronymized to MCR or abbreviated to My Chem) is an American rock band from Newark, New Jersey. This song is the epitome of what emo pop-punk means. Everyone who had a phase or still loves this genre knows this famous song. When they hear this song people start taking their black eyeliner and sing loudly. Other famous songs were Teenagers, I’m Not Okay ( I Promise ), and Helena.
