Ever since WandaVision premiered on Disney+ in January 2021, it has been the talk of the town that even non-Marvel fans have found themselves being wild about. For the unfamiliar, the new Marvel miniseries follows the story of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Across its nine-episode run, every episode has given fans new things to be intrigued and talk about, making the show a worldwide trending topic almost on a weekly basis. And recently, WandaVision made waves once again, particularly due to a line spoken by Vision about grief.

“But what is grief, if not love persevering?”

While the above quote can definitely tug at your heartstrings, it didn’t receive such a massive amount of attention until a netizen made a tweet about it, relating the line to his personal struggles with having lost his loved ones.

An actor and writer who goes by the name of Madison Hatfield also expressed her appreciation for the quote, sharing a screenshot of the scene where it was spoken along with a caption, “Do you hear that sound? It’s every screenwriter in the world whispering a reverent ‘F—‘ under their breath.” It was at this point that the wild world of internet noticed how some reactions seem a bit exaggerated and made a meme about it.

Initially intended to give praise to the quote, Hatfield’s tweet immediately turned into a copypasta, which means a block of text copied and pasted multiple times with the intention of poking fun at its subject matter. Many Twitter users began copying the original text and using it as a caption for other quote cards– some real, some completely made-up and nonsensical.
