If you want to imagine yourself in the romantic old times, then you should totally listen to the new EP of The Early Ears!

Ever imagined about the Philippines during the olden times? People were clad in Filipiniana dresses and barongs, and there were horse-drawn carriages everywhere. We may all agree though that those times brought suffering because of colonial rule, but from it also flourished Kundiman – a form of music expressing feelings for a beloved. So when we listened to the new EP of The Early Ears titled ‘Lumang Pag-Ibig‘, we were totally reminded of the past when suitors used to serenade women underneath their windows.

The songs are frickin’ beautiful right? Every track is really, really, really good, but we have to say that our favorite may be ‘LLDR’. While listening to it and to the other songs from the extended play record, we can’t just help but to remember the movie, ‘Hintayan ng Langit‘.

We also felt really kilig throughout the whole listening period, as if someone was really confessing their love to us through the art of music. Just phenomenal.

“Bagong Himig, Lumang Pag-Ibig”

Just in case you are not yet familiar with The Early Ears, they are a five-piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Quezon City formed in 2018. They consist of frontman Ray Maravilla on vocals and guitar, Angelo Zipagan and Prince Bautista both on guitars, Angelo Narag on bass, and Chi Zipagan on drums.

‘Lumang Pag-Ibig’ is their debut EP which is “a collection of odes to love and devotion, of hearts lost in time and overwhelming distance.” Because of the wonderful masterpiece that is this EP, it rightfully deserves a launch to celebrate good music with a bang!

Happening on November 16, The Early Ears will be launching ‘Lumang Pag-Ibig’ at Route 196, Katipunan. Check the poster for the event below.Lumang Pag-Ibig EP Launch Poster
