There’s a new girl group in town and they are killing it! POP/STARS by K/DA is all over the internet after their debut at 2018 League of Legends World Championship Finals!

Just last November 3, K/DA performed their very first song ‘POP/STARS’ at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship Finals Opening ceremony at Incheon, South Korea. And from that moment on, everyone is going gaga over the new girl group hitting the streets!

The new girl group, K/DA invaded all social media platforms, especially when the music video of ‘POP/STARS’ was released. Everyone is hooked up with the amazing music, dance, and aesthetics that each and every member of K/DA has. But to everyone’s surprise, K/DA is actually a virtual kpop group created by RIOT Games for their hit MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) League of Legends (LoL) as a promotion strategy!

In LoL, K/DA a series of alternate universe themed skins (an alternate appearance or color scheme for a LoL champion) that leans on the popularity of pop music. But ‘POP/STARS’ is more than just your regular pop song. It is a mix of amazing music, lyrics, and choreography that you don’t see every day. Even more, the song doesn’t just want you to burst the lyrics out loud, they want you to dance your feelings as well.

The Voices Behind K/DA

The group is composed of LoL’s very own Ahri (leader, lead vocalist), Akali (rapper), Evelyn (lead vocalist) and Kai’Sa (lead dancer). However, little did we know that behind these virtual champions are the beautiful voices of real-life singers! Bringing life to Ahri and Akali is the duo (G)I-DLE, Soyeon, and Miyeon, for diva Evelyn is Madison Beer and behind Kai’Sa’s powerful voice is Jaira Burns.

In fact, (G)I-DLE, Madison, and Jaira graced the stage at the 2018 LoL Worlds Championship for K/DA’s debut. And during the live performance, the virtual holograms of the LoL K/DA members are singing and dancing as well. Afterward, LoL released the official music video for ‘POP/STARS’ that dominated the web.

Anyway, go ake a look at how video games and reality collide with the K/DA’s live debut performance!

Ain’t nobody bringing us
Down, down, down, down, down, down
They could try but we’re gonna wear the crown
You could go another round
Round, round, round, round, round, round
Wish you luck but you’re not bringing us down
