The king is back with new music!

Legendary rapper Kanye West dropped on Tuesday his latest track Wash Us in the Blood along with its official music video, made in collaboration with Travis Scott and acclaimed cinematographer and director Arthur Jafa. Known for his works that combine activism with music, West’s new song serves as his first statement on the global pandemic crisis and the ongoing movement against racial injustice.

The music video is a compilation of footage of police brutality, black people suffering from coronavirus, riots, people dancing and singing, among many others. It also features photos of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and videos of protests triggered by their death. Kanye and Kim’s 7-year-old daughter, North West, also makes a cute cameo appearance by the end.

‘Wash Us in the Blood’ marks Kanye’s first single from his forthcoming album God’s Country— the latest since 2019’s Jesus is King that made history with #1 debuts on both the Rap Album and Gospel Album charts.
