Call your SO because this song is for everyone who is proudly taken! Ed Sheeran has a very clear message for us all in this new single called ‘Cross Me’!
“If you cross her, then you cross me.” Okay, Ed! We get that you’re very much off the market. People better not think of “crossing” their significant others, or there will be a problem. Ed Sheeran and Chance the Rapper is redefining love and relationships with ‘Cross Me’!
Ed revealed the song in the way of a cutesie lyric video as if to get the message across clearly. Check it out!
Ed is known for his beautiful way of writing to the person he loves. And his songs definitely make us all swoon when we hear them! Because of the amazing lyrics and musical arrangements, Ed’s songs have been favorite picks for serenades, weddings and other events. However, this time, he is writing to whoever plans on crossing his significant other. Collaborating with Chance the Rapper, he tells all the guys and girls that he and his SO come in a package. You cross the queen, you cross his man, and also the other way around.
I think that this is one beautiful way to give an ode to the singers’ relationships. Ed reportedly married his longtime partner, Cherry Seaborn in December while Chance is already expecting his second child with Kirsten Corley. This being said, the two are in a perfect position to protect what is theirs.
Also what you’ll love about the song is that it doesn’t portray the women as someone who would just be protected. Team effort, as relationships are, the queen should also be there to protect his king. And it’s nice to hear coming from a guy’s perspective to say “Sorry girls… if you want to keep being friends with me, you gotta pay respect to the lady in charge.”
No. 6 Collaborations Project
‘Cross Me’ followed the release of Ed’s collaboration with Justin Bieber called ‘I Don’t Care’ and is the second drop off of the No. 6 Collaborations Project. However, Ed has been very cryptic about the album. What we do know is that there would be 13 tracks, so we’re waiting for 11 more! He didn’t reveal who the album would feature yet, but it’s exciting that Ed has dedicated an album solely for his collabs! We’re sure the tracks would be amazing, so we can’t wait to hear them!
You can stream ‘Cross Me’ in Spotify now!
