Submission just released their 5-track EP called ‘Catharsis’, but it’s already leaving us wanting for more!

Yup, you read it right! Submission finally released ‘Catharsis’, their 5-track EP! It’s sure to fill you up with different emotions with each song which makes it the best go-to soundtrack. And we can’t wait to let you hear it!

Guilt, pain, pity, sadness, love—the word “catharsis” literally means the process of purging strong emotions through a particular activity or experience, such as writing or theatre. Well, a lot of activities can be used to cause catharsis. For Submission, it was songwriting. Fittingly, all the songs in this EP ar a form of release of emotions, however different they may be.

The first track of the same name is just pure instrumental, kinda like an entree to prepare for the main course. It seamlessly introduces us to the whole feel of the album while showcasing the band’s amazing instrumentation in just one minute and sixteen seconds of goodness! Then follows the four following tracks. ‘End This Way’, for me, communicates feelings of regrets as to why a relationship has to end the way it did. Sound sad? It definitely is! And you can really feel the strong emotions from the song, going from the writer’s heart to yours.

On the other hand, ‘Chasing Sunsets‘ is a previously released track lets us feel the bittersweet feeling of longing for more time with the person you love when it feels like you’re always chasing time just to be with them. In contrast to this, ‘Take My Hand‘ takes on a more hopeful and inspirational note as it encourages someone seemingly by saying “I’m always here for you.”
