Callalily new music video for single Ex was recently released—and it ups the game for local MVs.

The band featured four real-life ex couples, with relationships lasting from three months up to almost three years. If you can just imagine meeting your ex after a long while, you’d understand their reactions caught on camera. But at least, the band assured that no hearts were broken in the making of the film.

Of course the whole thing was awkward, but as the video progressed, the tension went off as well. Makes you wonder if one of them was still in love with the other, but the other led on to say that they’re better off as friends. One girl even confessed that she’s still in love with her ex.

The social experiment is hundred percent unstaged that even lead singer Kean Cipriano doubted it would work.

Anyway, for the song itself—it’s about having an ex-lover accept you with open arms as you try to fix things together, despite all the bad things you’ve done before. How lucky.

Inakala kong ika’y napagod, lahat ay tinapos mo

Kahit ginawa kang pansamantala iniwang mag-isa

Hayaan mong lahat ay maituwid ko pa

Niyakap mong mahigpit palapit sa’yo

Wala na ngang hihigit sa pag-ibig mo

Pinawi mong lahat ng luha’t kalungkutan sa aking puso

“Medyo deceiving ‘yung title na ‘Ex.’ It’s actually a song about forgiveness, acceptance, and freaking true love,” Kean told ABS-CBN, adding that it’s a ‘happy ending’ for their past songs Magbalik, Hintay, Pansamantala, and Bitter Song.

I guess it’s safe to say that Callalily new music video is another proof that we’re improving in our MVs, following IV of Spades’ cool vid for their song In My Prison.
