The Philippines went into a frenzy last week when MMI Live posted a golden poster with “XXIV K” written on it. Everybody already knew what the announcement meant from that single poster alone and they weren’t shy to let their excitement be known. The post garnered 5,400 reactions and 3,204 shares on Facebook alone, together with comments of fired up netizens tagging friends they want to go with.

The Rise of Bruno Mars

From his feature on B.o.B’s “Nothin’ on You” in 2009 to his multi-platinum “24K Magic” solo record, it’s safe to say the hype surrounding Bruno Mars never died. The singer-songwriter-producer has been evidently hard at work, producing fresh albums and going on taxing tours lasting a year or more. Mars’ work ethic doesn’t go unnoticed—his first single “Just The Way You Are” bagged the 2011 Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and he’s won four of his last Grammy nominations. During the 2017 Grammy Awards, Mars won as a producer for Album of the Year with Adele’s “25”.

He’ll be bringing his 24K Magic World Tour to the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 3, 2018. Details such as ticket prices and opening acts are yet to be announced but a big local band is hoping for the chance of a lifetime.

Jensen Gomez keeps his finger crossed for this one. The Jensen and the Flips frontman expressed his keen interest in having the band open for the superstar.

A barrage of fans wholeheartedly agreed with Gomez on Twitter.

Even Kai Honasan of Autotelic cheered him on.

There’s never a dream that’s too big, Jensen! Your friends at UDOU are backing you up 100%. Show your support for one of today’s best local bands by posting #BrunoXFlips on social media. Who knows, maybe we’ll be seeing them in the MOA Arena in 9 months.
