Looks who’s bringing us to life again!

The American rock band who gave us shivers and challenged all those karaoke-lovers for their hit single, ‘Bring Me To Life‘, just announced that their first album in nine years, The Bitter Truth will be slated for release this year! What’s more, Evanescence  also dropped its first track installment called ‘Wasted On You‘.

If you truly love this band, you’ll probably catch yourself doing some head bangs. So, feel free to check its music video below!

Paired with Amy Lee’s stunning vocals and the band’s signature pure-rock sound, the comeback of Evanescence gives us the current moods we felt while we are all hunkered down in our homes. As you can see on their ‘Wasted on You’ music video, shots were taken by each band member—Amy Lee, Tim McCord, Will Hunt, Troy McLawhorn, and Jen Majura on their iPhones while staying at their respective homes.

Building on the piercing intensity for which the band is known, the newly-released track of the band also gives us the emotional stillness and numbness of the current time where we can reflect our internal highs and lows that we basically experience now on a daily basis.

I don’t need drugs
I’m already six feet low
Wasted on you
Waiting for a miracle
I can’t move on
Feels like we’re frozen in time
I’m wasted on you
Just pass me the Bitter Truth

Moreover, ‘Wasted On You’ wasn’t the song that the band’s planning to release first until everyone went to indefinite lockdown due to the pandemic and they figured that this is the perfect time to drop this track.

“We are still writing and have a lot more work to do on this album, but this time we wanted to release the songs individually, as we create, to live more in the moment with our fans and our music.

And everything changed, so did the feeling and meaning of what we wanted to say right now. I didn’t write these lyrics about what we’re all now going through, but somehow that’s exactly what they are.” Amy explained.

However, the Bring Me to Life rockers have not yet confirmed when will be released of their album or how many songs it will feature. For now, let’s stream ‘Wasted On You‘ in different platforms!
