They play games, not feelings! That’s what some musicians scream as they expose their quirky gamer personalities. Check out who made it to our Weekly 5 Gamer Musicians list!

One might think that musicians spend their time listening to music, composing music or jamming out with friends. But for some, there’s more to life than music. We’ve accounted some of our favorite local music acts who revealed themselves to be avid gamers! You might want to see for yourselves who are our Weekly 5 Gamer Musicians!

Edward Ramirez

Beneath the calm, cool and collected exterior of singer-songwriter Edward Ramirez, he’s quite a gamer himself! Like grace under pressure, he prefers to play stealth games like Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell. He also plays PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Metal Gear series from time to time.

But among all of the games he plays, survival games keeps him going. Silent Hill was the game that made him enjoy the thrill, the friendships and bondings that video games provide.

A local artist and musician, Daintsu is a free soul, with a lot of creativity pouring out of her. Her quirkiness blows everyone away with enthusiasm. But putting that aside, she spends her free time with her friends playing their favorite games. When she’s not making music, she build her own world in Sims, creates frenzied chaos in Mario or embarks on her destiny playing Pokemon.

The bad boys of the surfer blues-rock band LaLuna are bad boys of the virtual game world too! Aside from taking names and breaking hearts with their songs, they break boss enemies and opponents on their own favorite games like Mario Kart Deluxe.

Vocalist Reason spends his free time playing Call of Duty and Fifa. Les, their bassist, kills his time playing Iconoclasts and Batman Arkham Night. (He’s a man of culture or whatevaaah). While lead guitarist Enzo and drummer Josh prefers MOBA games like Dota 2 and Mobile Legends.

The five-man band Gelo; turns out to be a band of gamers too! Surprisingly, amidst the rise of new games in the gaming industry, most of them prefers some of the classic game titles we’ve loved since childhood. Particularly GTA V, Devil May Cry and some fighting game titles like Street Fighter and Tekken.

According to their frontman, Angelo, playing games not just help them release stress. But it keeps them bonded in other ways aside from music. And yes, it does help their creativity juices flowing.

And last but definitely not the least, O/C Records very own Calein. The members of the quirky yet mysterious alternative band seems to be big gamers themselves. Ever since high school, they’ve been playing some iconic games of our childhood.

Their vocalist JD, the biggest gamer of the group, plays Dota 2, Call of Duty and League of Legends behind the scenes. While their drummer Paul and bassist, Kleyo prefers Grand Theft Auto V, Mobile Legends and Minecraft. Even their guitarist Marcus plays Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offense!

They might break their enemies but never your heart. Our favorite local musicians just keeps on surprising us! Guess there’s a lot to talk about when we meet them on their gigs, right?
