It’s not just instruments their hands fumble on, but also keyboards and controllers! Check out who are the local musicians that made it to our Weekly 5 Gamer Musicians list!

Who says you musicians are just all music? They’re so much more than that, mind you! It turns out that a lot of our favorite resident local musicians are avid gamers themselves. So here’s the list of our Weekly 5 Gamer Musicians you’d surely love!

The boys of the rising alternative rock band, Fourplay, aren’t just all music! It looks like all of their members play games during their free time. According to them, they’ve been all hooked to gaming since high school. Like the rush they get from performing, they love outsmarting and outmaneuvering their opponents.

They play different sorts of games. From MOBA, RPG to shooting games. But they share the same affinity for games like Dota 2, PUBG, Mobile Legends, Assassin’s Creed series, and NBA 2k. So if you find yourself talking to them in gigs, you can definitely talk about these games with them! (P.S. Vocalist Pio seems to be the biggest gamer among them!)

The electro-rock band, Submission is a band full of gamers too! As classic as it sounds, they enjoy playing household games like Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Resident Evil, Dota 2, Kingdom of Hearts and Dissidia franchise.

They do enjoy playing MOBA as well, bonding over Mobile Legends and the new Marvel Super War. You can really tell that they’re kids at heart because of how classic and legendary their game choices are! They even still play Pokemon from time to time!

For Submission, gaming doesn’t just relieve their stress. But it keeps them grounded and recharges them from their daily life. And playing multiplayer games helps them bond together, aside from music, of course. It’s a great talking point if you want to strike a conversation with them!

Who knew the electro-soul outfit, Asch, is a gamer? Because we definitely didn’t see that coming. Despite their mysterious demeanor, Asch has been playing way back in his childhood. Talk about an avid gamer, right?

He usually takes his time off by playing League of Legends and Mobile Legends. But he takes special interest for games like Dark Souls, Sekiro, Monster Hunter and the Final Fantasy franchise. Tedious games like those take time. And for him, despite how punishing the games, the thrill and fulfillment of finishing it satiates them good.

Room 14

On the other hand, the six-piece synth rock band Room 14 sees gaming as their own personal sports. They play mainstream games like Dota 2, PUBG and Mobile Legends. But as for some of their members like Adriane, he prefers fighting games like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Tekken. While Bryan likes story-driven games like Assassin’s Creed, Watchdogs, Quantum Break and Tomb Raider.

Outside music, most of them don’t have enough time to play actual sports. So they turned to playing video games as their source of entertainment. Some of them started playing games early, while some started in college. But depsite that, playing games created a new brotherhood among them. Their friendly competitions while playing paved a new sense of camaraderie between them.

Saving Sunday

But Saving Sunday might be the oddball among everyone in this week’s list! They aren’t just your typical gamers because the indie-pop-rock band’s composed of game developers! They play casually just like others, taking time to enjoy themselves outside being musicians.

Almost all of them takes time to grind episodic games like Life Is Strange, Tomb Raider Trilogy, The Walking Dead, Quantum Break, Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry. But they still do have an affinity for Dota 2, NBA 2k and CS:GO. Their love for gaming made them take game development-related courses, much to everyone’s surprise! Looks like these boys aren’t just performers but are also gamers through and through.

Surprisingly, knowing that our favorite musicians are gamers makes us wanna play with them! It’s a whole new world in gaming if you ask me. But knowing that they play makes us think that there’s more of a common denominator we have with our favorite musicians, right?
