Today is a good day! Because Taylor Swift just released a ‘Lover’ remix with the ever-captivating, Shawn Mendes! And we’re going to be honest with you, we’re so in love with this version!

And that’s because Shawn Mendes didn’t simply sing the original lyrics. He actually changed some of them! And we have a very strong feeling they’re about Camila Cabello.

So Taylor Swift announced the “COLLABORASHAWN” on her Instagram and Twitter Account. Where she praised his take on ‘Lover’ saying, “He has taken ‘Lover’ and he has rewritten parts of it, which I think is so important because I love him as a writer, and I also think that everybody would write a different love letter to their lover, and I think his take on it is so beautiful.”

We hope you caught those new lyrics. But if you didn’t that’s okay, we were gonna tell you about them anyway. And why we think they’re about Camilla Cabello. But aside from that, we just have to say that we find this version better than the original! And as usual, Shawn’s voice fits perfectly with such a romantic song.

The new changes in ‘Lover’ can be found in the second verse wherein Shawn sings solo. And the bridge, where both Taylor and Shawn sing. And there’s a line from the bridge by Shawn, where he sings:

Look in my eyes, they will tell you the truth
The girl in my story has always been you

And we think it’s about Camila Cabello because it’s very reminiscent of the lyrics from his song, ‘Why’. And this is now him, confirming that it’s always been about her.
