We had an exclusive interview with Silent Sanctuary at Maskipaps 2018! Check out our little chat with them right after their performance.
Silent Sanctuary was one of the big bands who performed at the event that has more than 14,000 attendees. And despite being tired from their performance, we have right here for you our interview with Silent Sanctuary at Maskipaps 2018!
Check out as band members, Raymund Sarkie and Anjo Inacay, answer some of our questions right here!
Silent Sanctuary is a 5-piece band who has been making waves in the OPM industry for quite some time now. Despite the many rising bands, Silent Sanctuary remains as one of the Filipinos’ all-time favorite band. Their hit songs ‘Pasensya Ka Na’, ‘Sayo’, and ‘Kundiman’ are memorized by heart by their avid fans.
Maskipaps: The Crossover 2018 is Silent Sanctuary’s third time to perform and Sarkie (vocals/guitars) and Anjo (cello) shares that each year, more and more people attend the event. They’ve been playing for the University of the Philippines since 2004, and Anjo tells us how people used to only appreciate their music. But now, people would actually sing along to their songs.
This is way beyond our wildest dreams.
Anjo states heartwarmingly after Sarkie explains how its easier to connect with their audience now.
Sarkie also shares his joy that a lot of rising bands are making its way to the Philippine music scene. With that note, Silent Sanctuary’s 2018 was really great for them as well.
Watch out for Silent Sanctuary!
And can I just say that I was screaming internally when Sarkie and Anjo were kind enough to share what’s in store for them next year?
Because holy moly! As early as January 2019, they will be releasing not one, but two songs! Yup, that’s right. And not just two singles, guys! The official music videos will be released too!
Wow Silent Sanctuary, you’re definitely going all out next year, huh? I hope we can handle all the feels! Because that’s surely a bomb way to spend the first month of 2019.
Advice for aspiring artists
Of course, Silent Sanctuary also started out from scratch too. Like everyone else, they had a dream. And Sarkie and Anjo gave out some helpful advice for aspiring artists out there.
Continue making it your passion because you have to really work hard with the kind of music industry we have in our country. Never diss other bands and just keep on practicing!
