South Korean all-male pop group BTS just reached a new high!

Ever since it arrived on streaming platforms, the whole world could not seem to get enough of BTS’s new smash hit, Dynamite. At the same time, the song could not seem to stop making history. Only last week, ‘Dynamite’ took the crown from PSY’s Gangnam Style as the longest-charting song on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart by any Korean act.

Well, BTS’s universally adored summer anthem just reached another crucial milestone. Dynamite’s official music video, which is equally as electrifying as the track, just surpassed one billion views on YouTube. Not only that, the music video for ‘Dynamite’ amassed more than a billion plays only seven months after its release, making BTS the fastest Korean group to have achieved such a feat.

Dynamite entering the so-called Youtube’s Billion View Club marks the latest in the long string of historic feats made by the song. In addition to being the most simultaneously viewed music video on Youtube Premiere, it also holds the record as the biggest first-day debut, having garnered 10 million views within 20 minutes and 101.1 million views within 24 hours after it was made available on the platform.

As impressive as this announcement may be, it should be noted that this isn’t the first time a BTS music video has accumulated more than a billion views on YouTube. It’s actually the third music video to have reached the milestone, following “DNA” and “Boy with Luv” with 1.2B views and 1.1B views, respectively, as of writing.
