Sometimes, all we do need is a little bit of love to believe in–especially in these trying times.
On December 31, Darren Espanto released an incredible rendition of an already incredible song “Believe in Christmas.” This time, with the help of some friends from across the globe, Darren turned the song into a message of hope for everyone at the tail-end of one of the worst years in most of our lifetimes.
“BELIEVE” by Darren Espanto and Friends embodies the very Filipino way of bracing for challenges in song. It tells of a belief in a world where a little bit of love can make the world go round which we especially need in turning the tide for this new season we’ve been given.
The star-studded music video for the song was greeted by Boy Abunda opening with a few remarks on the song’s beneficiary, Save the Children Philippines. A foundation for the benefit of the children affected by floods and other calamities as well as illiterate Filipino children.
Tito Boy also opens with “We also want to deliver the message that as a people we shouldn’t lose hope.” “We should believe that we will come out of these trying times better people and hopefully, in a better world,” he adds.
Among Darren Espanto’s roster of awfully talented friends in the music video is husband and wife, Ogie and Regine, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, King of Pop Martin Nievera, to name a few of those who sang their hearts out to this anthem of hope.
Believe in Christmas
The song ‘Believe in Christmas’ was initially released on November 20, 2020, and was meant to greet the Holiday Season with positivity amidst the backdrop of a terrible year.
Since then, it has been on repeat in Filipino households to this day. This is why it deserved a spot in our Top 10 Songs of the Week chart where you can vote for it to no.1 until January 19, 2021.
Let’s keep spreading the song’s much-needed siren of hope to the world. You can vote for the song on the link down below.
