When the world needed him the most, he provided.

It appears that the waiting days are over! After a hiatus that took two years, singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is back with new music. Not only that, along with his arrival comes his new band called Silk Sonic.

Last week, the “Versace On The Floor” hitmaker teased fans about his impending return and his team-up with a fellow Grammy Award-winning artist, Anderson Paak. “We locked in and made an album. The band’s called Silk Sonic. First song drops next Friday 3/5,” Mars wrote along with a vintage poster of an upcoming concert featuring their newly formed group.

As promised, Silk Sonic dropped today the first of the many lovechildren of Mars and Paak’s combined greatness. Titled ‘Leave the Door Open,’ the song is now available on digital streaming platforms. It also comes with a music video, which you can check out below.

2020 had been a quiet year for Bruno Mars, and even he himself was aware of it. The last song we heard from him prior to his 2021 return was his collaboration single with Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton called ‘Blow,’ which dropped in 2019. The latest album the fil-am performer has released was 2016’s 24k Magic. Poking fun at his lengthy absence from the music scene, Mars took to Instagram last year and joked, “If you don’t release musicyou cant lose any Grammys.”
