Don’t be sad, don’t be blue. With or without a partner, love is for everyone. If you’re single on Valentine’s Day, here’s what you can do to enjoy!

Stop whining, stop being bitter. Love comes to those who wait and aren’t in a hurry. Remember, true love is worth the wait! If you’re single on Valentine’s Day, you don’t have to feel sorry for yourself. Don’t mind the memes or the people around you who mock you for it. There is a good side to being single in the month of love!

You don’t have to worry what to get your partner or freeing your February 14 to be with them. Because you have the day to yourself! While couples are going around on dates, why don’t you treat yourself out? Here’s a list of things that you can do to enjoy even if you don’t have a bae to hold hands with! Keep in mind tho that you can always do these things (especially when you’re single *wink wink*)!

Riding the plane and discovering new things would be so amazing. But if that can’t be squeezed in with your budget, then just go somewhere new that’s accessible for you. Exploring new things whether on your own or with families or friends would be a great way to spend Valentine’s Day. You don’t need a lover to go on a trip! Discovering new things in your own way can give you a lot of newfound perspectives and see stuff through a different angle.

Challenge yourself

Challenge yourself! True enough, this would be a cool relationship goal. Having someone who can give you strength to do things that scares you is comforting. But always remember that you don’t need a boyfriend/girlfriend to give you that. Strength has to come from within you because no one can take that away if that’s the case. Do things that you thought you can’t succeed in either out of fear or laziness. Climb a mountain, jump off a cliff or try that art lesson even if you can’t draw! It’ll give a whole new experience and determination if you try something that you thought you couldn’t do.

Go to the spa, have a long shower, read a good book, watch Netflix all night. It’s your call! Just relax and unwind. I’m sure you’ve been busy from school or work and just your everyday routine. It can be draining. And since you’re not out on a date on this year’s Valentine’s Day, use this time to meditate and just chill. You’ll not only be able to rest physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Come the next day, you’d feel so refreshed and won’t care that you didn’t have someone to cuddle with the night before. 😉

Ahhhh, treat yourself! And the best way to do that is to shop! Yup, you should be saving up. But if you’re kinda feeling down not having a date on Valentine’s Day, then make yourself feel good. Whoever said that money can’t buy happiness hasn’t tried shopping! And better be ready, right? You’ll never know when you’ll meet “the one”, and I’m sure you want your outfit to reflect who you are when that time comes.

Hang out with friends

Singles club gather around! Hahaha kidding. But really, call up your friends who don’t have an SO to spend February 14 with. Date each other or hang out as a group and have fun. The month of love doesn’t have to be with a romantic interest. It can be with your friends! Do something fun and crazy, just make sure not to sulk around and stare at couples passing by, okay?

Eating spree

The best way to go about Valentine’s Day (or any day that for that matter) is to eat! Go around the metro and munch on some delicious snacks and hit on new restaurants. You can also go to your favorite area and grab all your favorite food that you’ve been missing for quite some time now. With good food, you can never feel alone!

Of course, sweetheart, the best way to spend Valentine’s Day and the rest of your days is loving yourself. Do whatever makes you happy especially when you know for yourself that you’d feel sad being single on Valentine’s Day. Try out a new hobby, do what you’ve always wanted to do, or anything that could make you grounded. The month of love must not be the cause of you being sad, because the best kind of love is the one that you have for yourself!
