A few years back, fans of popular YA series The Selection got their hopes up when a film adaption was announced to be in the works. However, the expectations got buried over time as no more updates on the film’s development came out.

And then on April 10, author Kiera Cass announced on her official website that it’s finally happening– on Netflix!

The Selection

The Selection is the first in a five-book series, hitting the shelves in 2012. Set in a futuristic dystopian world divided into castes, it follows the story of America Singer, who is chosen to be among the 35 women to compete for Prince Maxon’s heart. Her situation turns out to be complicated as she gets caught up in a love triangle with her present lover, Aspen, and the prince she’s starting to fall for.

The Selection is followed by The Elite (2013), The One (2014), The Heir (2015, and The Crown (2016). It has sold more than 11 million copies all over the world.
