When I was younger, I was a total sticker fanatic. Having a pretty picture you can stick anywhere was such a cool concept to me. I’d save up my allowance to buy stickers across the street from school to fill up my sticker albums.

Now that I’m older, my love for stickers hasn’t changed. In fact, it’s deepened. I have envelopes full of stickers, just waiting to be used. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill kiddie stickers, mind you. These are pieces of art created by Manila’s coolest indie artists. So if you want a slice of the local sticker scene, I’ve got the guide for you. Whether you’re into pop culture, calligraphy, or just good ol’ visual art, there’s something for you. Here’s a list of the top 10 local sticker makers, in no particular order.

Pundesal

Artists Lance Florentino and Abby Magsanoc started Pundesal because of their love for puns. What started as a small page on Instagram has turned into Manila’s go to place for pop culture laughs. They don’t just sell stickers, mind you. They’ve expanded to patches, caps, and shirts.

Jappy is an illustrator and muralist who was featured in the recent Wanderland Festival. You can find his paintings on walls all over the metro (yes, that big wall over at Route196, included!). One of his most recent pieces is a mural for Cheese Please at The Mill in Bulacan. Owning one of his stickers is like having your own mini-mural.
