Stop everything! This is not a drill! You don’t have to go to Tagaytay just for Buko Pie anymore, because Jollibee is bringing Buko Pie to us!

That’s right, the classic Filipino dish and all-time favorite pasalubong is now available at all Jollibee branches in Metro Manila and Luzon! And will be arriving in Visayas and Mindanao starting October 28! So step aside, for now, my beloved Peach Mango Pie. Because Jollibee has officially brought us their all-new Buko Pie! In a post on their official Facebook page earlier today, it says that the new Jollibee Buko Pie is made with “real Buko chunks” and has a “sweet-creamy filling!”

How does it compare to the classic Buko Pie?

As early as now, people have begun to try the new Jollibee Buko Pie and here is what they had to say about it:

This is a win for local Coconut Farmers

Assuming that Jollibee sources out their Buko from local Coconut farms here in the Philippines, it is a big win for the Coconut Industry. Because not only are they purchasing locally and helping the economy and the farmers. But they’re also spreading the magnificently classic Filipino dessert, the Buko Pie. So it’s a win-win all-around. Lazy gluttons like me can get our Buko Pie fix easily, local Coconut Farmers get more business, and we’re promoting classic Pinoy dishes!

But of course, nothing can beat the original Buko Pies from Laguna, and more popularly Tagaytay. And we don’t think Jollibee’s Buko Pie will cause a decline in the sales of the classic pies anyway. But also it’s great that Jollibee is venturing into a more sustainable dessert than that of their previous releases, the Ube Pie. Although probably nothing will replace the Peach Mango Pie in our hearts!

What do you think of the new Buko Pie from Jollibee? Will you be giving it a try? We’d love to hear what you think! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
