This local artist wowed us with his art style—as he drew some iconic looks from the ABS-CBN Ball 2019!
This local artist sure got everyone’s attention! Known on Facebook as the Art of Maku, and otherwise known as Gerard (last name unknown). Is a Filipino artist who recently gained traction on Facebook. One of his posts went viral because of his recreation of iconic looks from the recently-concluded ABS-CBN Ball 2019. The original post got 1k in reactions and was shared over 600 times. Check out how his work fared with the originals:
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla
We just absolutely love how this artist recreated the details on Kath’s dress! It’s like we can feel the texture. And did you know that before the ABS-CBN Ball 2019, Daniel filled Kath’s hotel room with a bunch of bouquets? Isn’t that just sweet?
Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber
Do you know just how iconic Maymay’s dress was that night? So iconic that Tyra Banks noticed! That’s right, America’s Next Top Model Tyra Banks! Also, don’t forget about their upcoming concert! Happening on September 27, entitled “M.E. And U,” at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
Anne Curtis-Smith Heusaff
Anne’s cute ensemble was really captured by the artist in this one. I love how even though his art style is textured, the softness and sheerness of Anne’s dress still shows. Plus her got her pose on point! The beautiful lavender piece was designed by Filipina designer, Mich Dulce.
Bea Alonzo
That thigh-high slit is really something! Jun Escario really knew what Bea Alonzo needed when he designed her dress. We could even compare it to Princess Diana’s infamous “Revenge Dress.”
Janella Salvador
The Killer Bride star really knew how to serve a killer look on the red carpet. And how the artist captured the flowing poofy-ness of her dress.
Francis Magundayao
Now, this is a look that served some serious representation. We applaud Francis Magundayao’s compassion on opting to have his barong designed as a tribute for Filipino Farmers. And the artist as well, to really get those details in there. Did you know that it’s actually embellished with palay? Kudos to Paolo Baltazar for that one.
Vice Ganda
At first we didn’t quite get Vice Ganda’s dress. But when the Showtime host captioned it as, “Ang Alamat ng Paruparong Bukid.” We all went, “Ohhh!” It really does resemble that of a butterfly a bit.
Ylona Garcia
This gold-clad songstress really knew how to shine among the rest. It’s a very literal take on Baro’t Saya but not an understated one for sure!
