After getting pushed back to give the devs more time to polish, the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands pre-patch has now gone live.
Fans of the long-running MMORPG who have been excitedly waiting for Shadowlands can finally get their hands on the expansion pre-patch. A pre-patch, we know it, is Blizzard’s way of testing the waters so they’ll have a grasp of how their WoW community feels about the added in-game features before the grand expansion launch.
This latest content update brings in some big game system changes to World of Warcraft ahead of Shadowlands, including the first-ever Level Squish, Exile’s Reach, new character customization options, and many more.
One of the biggest changes is in the level system. To prepare players for the level 60 cap in Shadowlands, the max character level on the pre-patch has been moved down to 50 from the previous 120. New character abilities and talents are also introduced, in addition to the return of classic abilities removed in previous expansions, and a newcomer chat allowing brand-new players to communicate.
Another interesting addition to the pre-patch is Exile’s Reach, which will serve as the starting area for newcomers. In Exile’s Reach, players will have to increase their level until 10, before getting transferred to the land of Azeroth.
To heat things up, players will be able to participate in a pre-expansion in-game event wherein Scourge will invade Azeroth. In this fight with the army of the undead, participants will be offered loot and special rewards as they defend cities and fight off bosses. This event only runs until the expansion launch, so you better log in now and join.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will launch sometime in 2020. For more information, you can check out World of WarCraft’s official website and their pre-patch survival guide which you can watch below!
