In the recently concluded ESGS, here’s an insight into what it’s like going to the biggest gaming convention in the country for the first time!

But first, to all newbies out there in the world of gaming, let’s dive in real quick on what ESGS is. It’s basically the biggest gaming convention in the Philippines and gamers from all around gather and experience this momentous event. And there’s a lot of things to look forward to at ESGS like new games, tournaments, and of course–famous personalities in the field of gaming.

Being a novice in gaming, I found it quite intimidating to involve myself in a matter I’m not really familiar with. Although I can say I have played games like Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and PUBg. I still felt intimidated and clueless and even questioned why I was there.

Surprisingly, what I had been fearing didn’t happen! I was welcomed with open arms! And I tried out new games such as Club Audition Mobile, Monster Hunter: World Iceborne, Predator Vanguard. I even experienced playing using the acclaimed Nintendo Switch.

What made my first ESGS more fun is that I got to see some famous streamers like Myrtle Sarrosa, Akosi Dogie, and Cong TV! Talk about a star-studded event!

I felt in awe in front of all the booths around me and that’s when I thought, “I really want to be a part of this.” It wasn’t just an event showcasing games rather, it comes with the purpose of promoting the gaming industry as something much more than what other people think. And to see thousands of people gathering with the same goal–I was proud to be in that movement.

ESGS 2019 new games

With that being said, I’d like to finish off my ESGS 2019 journey here. It was a very insightful experience and I hope we can change the negative stigma surrounding gaming in general. Because for all we know it’s gaming isn’t just a “hobby”, it’s really a thriving industry producing great players, games, and events like ESGS.

‘Till my next ESGS experience!
