Nintendo together with Universal Studios is officially bringing Super Nintendo World to the West to be part of the upcoming Epic Universe Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. It is said to be up and running in 2023!
This was announced during the Q4 2019 investors meeting of Comcast, parent company of Universal Studios.
Meanwhile, the first Super Nintendo World Theme Park is underway in Universal Studios Japan. It will be open in time for the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo.
Here’s what you can expect
Although we don’t know if this will also be the case in Orlando, according to Nintendo, this life-size video game amusement park in Japan will have two initial rides: one themed after Super Mario Kart and another Omni-mover ride called Yoshi’s Adventures. Besides that, Super Nintendo World will also be having Nintendo-themed interactive areas, shops, and restaurants.
What’s even more exciting about this theme park is that the unique wrist bands given to park-goers which we can also assume for the one that’s going to be in Orlando. With this, they will find themselves stepping into a real-life Mario Kart race since it acts as a tracker and they will have to run around the park earning gold coins and compete with other players.
And in celebration of Super Nintendo World, a music video collab with Galantis and Charli XCX with the theme, “We’re born to play”, was revealed showing also what the park would look like. Check it out right here:
