PS1 classic Metal Gear Solid is reportedly being remade again exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and PC.

This rumor is according to the Youtube channel RedGamingTech, which is known to be an accurate source of gaming-related leaks in the past. Although they specialize in hardware stuff, they also have a history of leaking precise software information.

According to the leaker’s source, the revival of the original Metal Gear video game is going to be a full remake– not merely a remaster of some sort. The rumor also reveals that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 are getting their respective HD remasters, although it still isn’t clear whether they will also be PS5 and PC exclusives.

A brainchild of Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid is an action-adventure stealth video game that follows Solid Snake, a highly-skilled stealth soldier tasked to destroy the titular superweapon Metal Gear. Developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published in 1998 for the PlayStation 1, the game went on to become a massive critical and commercial success; gamers consider it as the founder of the stealth-action genre. It currently ranks as the tenth best-selling title on the PlayStation with 2 million copies sold and is hailed as one of the best games of all time.
