We’re all so used to playing the good guys, so now we get to play the real bad guys.

From the creators of the widely acclaimed Batman Arkham series comes another promising superhero game that twists the usual me-against-the-villains narrative. The recently concluded first part of DC FanDome revealed the first official cinematic trailer for ‘Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,’ and quite expectedly, we’re seeing too much mayhem. Developed by Rocksteady Studios, the brand-new action-adventure game features the notorious team of expendable, berserk super villains in action. The trailer arrived two weeks after Rocksteady posted a teaser depicting Superman with a mark on his head.

In the trailer, we see Task Force X members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark finding themselves amidst a war-ravaged Metropolis. Taking directions from antagonist Amanda Waller, they launch into battle wielding their signature weapons while OutKast’s “B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)” blares out in the background.

The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League,” reads the description that accompanies the trailer. “Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad.”

By the end of the video, a helicopter comes crashing down on the squad, followed by the arrival of the Man of Steel looking as if something evil had possessed him– an indication that he’s being controlled by Brainiac. That puts the Suicide Squad in a mission to kill Superman and, well, other members of the Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’ marks Rocksteady’s first release since 2015. The studio is mostly recognized for its award-winning Batman trilogy which incorporates heavy combat and modern technology into a mesmerizing open-world experience.

The ‘Suicide Squad’ game is scheduled to arrive in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Watch the official trailer below!
