Minecraft’s caves and mountains will be greatly diversified, thanks to a recently announced upcoming game update.
After expressing their excitement via a blog post over their collaboration with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mojang Studios has something else for Minecraft fans to go gaga over.
During their Minecraft live event on Friday, the game studio revealed major details on something called Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update set to arrive in Summer 2021. As indicated by its name, the new update will see expansions on the sandbox game’s cave and mountain system.
Once the update is implemented, it’s gonna be a whole new world down there in the underground, as the caves will show more variety in terms of interior. As mentioned at the event, there will be “lush caves,” “dripstone caves,” and “crystal geode caves.” The update will also improve the game’s cave generation, which means players will encounter a more dynamic underground environment. A brand new archeology system will be added so players will get to immerse themselves in some history adventure as they dig for ruins and artifacts.
If these add-ons are not thrilling enough, there will be stalactite/stalagmite blocks in caves after the update, as well as sculk sensor blocks. Copper ore and new mobs such as the terrifyingly powerful Warden and the friendly Axolotl are being added to the game, too.
Of course, the cliffs are undergoing some changes, too. An improvement in mountain generation and the addition of GOATS are a couple of new things to expect. Yep, you heard it right. There will be stout-bodied, mild-mannered goats coming your way as you hike up the mountains, and isn’t that one of the cutest things ever?
Aside from the aforementioned, there could also be more in store for us. Minecraft’s Caves and Cliffs update will arrive on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One in the summer next year. Watch Minecraft Live 2020: Full Show below!
