They say all good things come to an end…
And that’s exactly what happened after OG revealed that their Position 4, Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, will retire from the Dota 2 pro scene, who has been with them throughout their first and second time winning TI.
From Boston to Shangai, @iamJERAX allowed us to write a unique story with OG.
All good things come to an end, and Jesse has decided to retire from pro Dota 2.

On Sunday, OG announced on their official website that the reason for retirement is that he has became dispassionate and unwilling to play Dota 2. The 27-year-old Dota 2 player started his career in 2013 but as time passed he has become dispassionate and unwilling in playing the game.
“I have no willingness nor passion to play Dota 2 anymore, and I have trouble fitting myself into my competitor’s shoes. For me the decision to pursue to another direction is clear, and I have no doubts about it.”
“Living in this culture has hit me hard. Thinking about the yearly “grind” makes me feel apathetic, exhausted, and almost numb,” he continued. “My passion for the game was there, but I was at times lying to myself that everything was alright. It really wasn’t, I was trying to be something other to who I am.”
Despite the sad news, it looks like we’ll still be seeing JerAx but less behind the screen as he said he will still be a member of OG. Still, we’ll surely miss his outstanding plays using his signature heroes such as Earth Spirit, Io, and Earthshaker.

Even so, what could this mean for team OG as the next DPC qualifiers are fast-approaching? Will we be seeing the downfall of this two-time TI winning team? We hope not.
How do you feel about OG.JerAx retiring from Dota 2? And what do you think about OG.ana’s extended break?
