Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great start for the team as Tigers fails to qualify in DreamLeague Season 11 Open Qualifiers.
Despite revamping their roster, Tigers failed to directly qualify for DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major. The team has just finished completing their roster with veterans Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung and Danil “Dendi” Ishutin. And people have raised their expectations because of that. However, it seemed that they have fallen short after their underwhelming performance in the Open Qualifiers.
Tigers had two chances to qualify for the Stockholm Major. With 2 Open Qualifiers for each region, it gave budding Dota 2 teams a chance to participate in the Regional Closed Qualifiers. And Tigers with their promising lineup unexpectedly became a team to look forward to in SEA. But they lost in Round of 32 in Open Qualifiers #1 again WarriorsGaming.Unity. It was indeed a bitter loss as it was an early exit for the team.
However, they still had another chance at the Open Qualifiers #2. But after making it to Round of 16 a bit scathed, they faced Filipino team, Detonator. And in their make-it-or-break-it Bo1 match, they lost again and lost their chance to directly qualify for the Closed Qualifiers.
Since they failed to directly qualify for DreamLeague Closed Qualifiers, they’ll have to win the StarLadder Season 6 Minor instead. Winning the StarLadder Season 6 Minor would guarantee a spot for DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major. Aside from that, their performance will also determine Dendi’s involvement with the SEA organization.
The qualifier dates for the StarLadder Season 6 Minor are yet to be announced. But the tournament itself will run from March 4 to March 10, 2019. And it’s just four days away before the DreamLeague’s Stockholm Major. This must be real pressure for them.
