Get ready to battle with Andres Bonifacio in the Pinoy fighting game, ‘Bayani’! Read on to find out more!

Bored from the usual games you’ve been playing? How about giving BAYANI: Kanino Ka Kakampi? a try? It’s a 1v1 Filipino indie fighting game that takes its uniqueness from Philippine culture. Just released last year, we can see the game’s characters are heavily influenced by the most prominent faces in Philippine history like Jose Rizal, Apolinario Mabini, and Antonio Luna. Now, the game calls for a new character inspired from another Philippine hero, and it’s none other than Andres Bonifacio!

And a side note, even though it has many parallels, references, and callbacks to historical figures and events of the Philippines, it is still set in an alternate universe. So, your Araling Panlipunan teachers won’t have to worry about you playing this game. *wink*

Okay, back to regular programming. Shall we get to know the character inspired from Bonifacio? Who’d thought we’d get to see the day this once-great hero rise from the ashes?

Andrei Bonifacio a.k.a Dre

Andres Bonifacio or Dre in Bayani Filipino game

Introducing…Dre, the newest addition to the Bayani fighters! Dre is a living dead hero resurrected through the remains of his brother. Basically, he is a mindless zombie programmed to hunt down his killer.

Dre came to life (more or less) with the creator having Andres Bonifacio in mind. In case you didn’t know, Bonifacio was a Filipino revolutionary leader and the president of the Tagalog Republic. He is often called “The Father of the Philippine Revolution”.

Other characters

After having seen Dre, we know you’re curious about the other characters. So here you go!
