ESL Katowice 2019 is just a day away! So better know who to watch out for the coming tournament!

Teams will once again grace the big stage for ESL Katowice 2019. 12 teams from different regions all over the world will battle it out. Despite not being a DPC sanctioned tournament, the winning team will receive the lions share from the $300,000 USD prize pool. The twelve qualified and invited teams will head to Katowice, Poland to play on February 19 -24, 2019.

So far, the list of teams is complete. They’ve also released the group distribution for the Groups stages. On Group A, we have Team Secret, Gambit Esports, OG, Mineski, Forward Gaming and For The Dream. On the other hand, for Group B, we have Ninjas in Pyjamas, Complexity, Fnatic, Alliance, Chaos Esports Club and Team Aster. Only four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.

The Group Stage will be a best-of-two round robin. Top two teams from each team will advance to the Upper Bracket in the Playoffs. While the 3rd and 4th placers in each group will head to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs. Sadly, the bottom two teams of both groups will be eliminated, thus ending their run from the ESL Katowice 2019.

For the Playoffs, the remaining 8 teams will play in front of the live audience in Spodek Arena. It will be double elimination with all games, except the Grand Finals, will be a best-of-three series. The Grand Finals will be played in a best-of-five series. The induction of a new player to ESL’s Hall of Fame will take place. And there is a chance to challenge Peter “ppd” Dager in a 1v1 mid match too.
