With the tournaments hitting the road, Evil Geniuses announces that SumaiL will take a break for MDL Macau!

Unfortunately, Evil Geniuses won’t be playing with Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan in the upcoming MDL Macau. Earlier last week, Evil Geniuses announced that SumaiL will be taking a short break to prepare for The Stockholm Major. With a few weeks gap between MDL Macau and The Stockholm Major, the organization decided to give Sumail a well-deserved rest from all the grind.

It’s just two months in of 2019 but a lot of tournaments and qualifiers had been announced. MDL Macau is the team’s second non-Dota Pro Circuit tournament this season. And this will also be their second time not having their mid laner SumaiL to play. According to the organization, Quinn “CCnC” Callahan will be standing in for SumaiL once again.

Before for the ESL Hamburg 2018, CCnC has to fill in for SumaiL due to visa issues. But this time, SumaiL will be absent in order to “recharge with a much-needed vacation”. Like I’ve mentioned, there are a lot of qualifiers, scrimmages, and boot camps the team has to do because of the increased schedule for this DPC season. And with that being said, there is less time for the players to rest. In their statement, Evil Geniuses mentioned that they want to prioritize their “talent’s ability to pursue their goals in a healthy and productive way”.

MDL Macau will be running from February 20 – 24, 2019 with eight teams competing for the remains of the $300,000 USD prize pool. Aside from Evil Geniuses, the other teams invited are Virtus.pro, PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, Team Liquid, EHOME, Royal Never Give Up and Invictus Gaming. Nevertheless, SumaiL will be back in EG soon for The Stockholm Major in March 2019.

SumaiL will take a break for MDL Macau but will this affect EG’s play style? Do you think the can win MDL Macau? Share us your thoughts on the comments down below. Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
