Full disclosure, this may be a bit overwhelming.

Dota 2 Outlanders Update

Say hello to the DOTA 2 Outlanders Update (7.23 patch update). Okay, I’m not going to lie, there is a ton of information to unpack with this new update. But I’ll only feature the most important, and well, shocking ones.

Because not only do we finally get to play the two new heroes, Snapfire and Void Spirit. But there’s also a map update, a major courier update, an item drop update, and sooo much more!

So let’s get to it!

Snapfire and Void Spirit!

Dota 2 Outlanders Update

So we’ve known that these two heroes were coming since The International 9. But now they’re finally letting us play them! So with the new update, they’ve also released their respective skills and roles.

Void Spirit is a carry hero, while Snapfire is a support hero. One of the skills of Void Spirit we’re most curious about is his dissimilate skill, and how difficult is it to use. For Snapfire, we just absolutely love her ‘Firesnap Cookie’ skill that enables her to leap like Mirana. And her ‘Mortimer Kisses’ skill that shoots fireballs at a very impressive range.

Here is the full list of skills for both heroes:

Courier Updates

Dota 2 Outlanders Update

Another major change from the Outlanders Update (7.23 patch update) is for the couriers. So unlike before, where there is only one courier for both teams.

With the new update, each player will have his own courier, meaning there will be a total of 10 couriers in play. Giving heroes like Riki who can effectively hunt couriers down an advantage.

So here are the most prominent changes for couriers that we found:

-Each player now has their own courier automatically
-The courier now gains levels when your hero gains levels
-Courier gains flying movement at level 5
-The courier gains the ability to use wards at level 15
-Courier gains the ability to use items in general at level 25

General Updates

Additionally, the DOTA 2 Outlander Update has rolled out new rules that’ll help in acquiring gold for your heroes in-game. We all know that there are unsavory players out there who steal Observer Wards from Support Heroes, well those days are over. Because the gold for destroying Observer Wards will be granted to those who bought the Sentry Wards or True Sight.

Another thing that will be helpful for Support Heroes, is that Observer Wards no longer cost gold. And that players are granted 3 Town Portal Scrolls instead of just one.

With this new update, gone will be the days of uncounted assists because you died or teleported away. Because heroes will be granted the area assist gold even if they are no longer alive or in that area. As long as you’ve recently inflicted damage or a debuff, you’ll be counted!

Along with that, there is also a new map update and that heroes can now level up to 30! And once you do, you unlock the entire Talent Tree!

Neutral Creeps Drops!

Dota 2 Outlanders Update

This is probably the biggest change in the Dota 2 Outlander Update (7.23 patch update). Because it will make jungling more significant and beneficial for not only he Jungle Heroes, but for the entire team as well.

And that’s because Neutral Creeps will now drop exclusive items!

Neutrals will now drop unique items that cannot be sold but can be shared with allies. There are five tiers of items that drop over the course of the game. The drops only begin after 5 minutes into the game. And to accommodate the new item drops the backpack slots are upgraded from 3 slots to 4.

There are a total of  62 unique neutral items to find. So let’s hope you get lucky with the right drops.

And that wraps up all the prominent new changes for the DOTA 2 Outlander Update (7.23 patch update)! If you want to see the full list of updates, you can find them on the DOTA 2 website, right here. Let us know if there are parts of the new update you want us to talk about more!
