It’s Overwatch but a fighting game, thanks to Workshop master DarwinStreams!
For quite some time, Overwatch fans have been tossing around the idea of a fighting game. Which kinda makes sense since most of Overwatch heroes perfectly fit into a fighting game format. And due to consistent public demand, popular Workshop creator DarwinStreams works his magic for “Overfight”.
After seeing a lot of requests, DarwinStreams took it upon himself to make an Overwatch fighting game a reality. And thus, Overfight was born in the Overwatch Workshop. Overfight’s gameplay follows the typical fighting game mechanics as we know. But what sets it apart is the diversity of heroes, especially their overall skills and ultimates.
Thanks to Overwatch’s varied skills, he was able to create a couple of original special moves for the playable heroes. And that includes a finishing move with a Mortal Kombat “Fatality-style” animation to finish off an opponent in one hit. (Tip: It is advised not to push any buttons while the animation is active.)
So far, there are four playable characters: Doomfist, Reinhardt, Winston, Genji, and Torbjorn. But according to DarwinStreams, he will be adding new heroes soon. It seems like the mode will be massive in Overwatch, he intends to develop the game mode. Especially since it has a lot of imperfections and bugs at the moment. He even suggested the players switch their keyboard bindings from WSAD to DAWS for more comfortable gameplay.
