As they continue to break through, OG cements their historical back-to-back victory at The International 2019!
Indeed, history has been made as OG claims the Aegis of the Immortal, once more, as The International 2019 champions. They beat down Team Liquid 3-1 in the Grand Finals in an astounding dominating performance. Their victory makes them the first two-time champions in two consecutive years! And no one has ever done that yet. Well, except OG.
For the first time in Dota history the reigning champions have defended their crown. The team that defied the odds to win last year, has reclaimed the Aegis of Champions in The International 2019. OG close the Grand Final series in a commanding 3-1 finish. #Dota2 #TI9 pic.twitter.com/ESaHeRjkpP

For the past few months of the 2018-2019 DPC season, OG hadn’t had been in their best shape. After their win at The International 2018, Anathan “ana” Pham took a break from the team. His absence hurt the team’s performances. So it’s a no brainer why no one expected them to win the championship once more. And just like that, they’re back to square one: entering the tournament as favorites but as underdogs as well.
But as soon as the Group Stages started, OG showed dominance over anyone. During the Playoffs, they never dropped a single series, no matter who their opponent is. Not even against China’s PSG.LGD, not to their rival Evil Geniuses nor to their fellow TI champion, Team Liquid.

The road to their second TI championship was another TI champion; nonother than Team Liquid itself. Unlike OG, Team Liquid dropped to the Lower Bracket and had to fight their way off to the top. Which they are really good at if you ask me. They managed to seclude a win in Game 1 with a solid Templar Assassin pick from Miracle-.
However, as soon as OG found their bearings on Game 2, they became unstoppable. The next 3 games with Liquid came like a breeze, finishing them off in just 30 mins or less. Which was daunting. Because, it’s the first time we’ve seen Liquid cower in a very one-sided game against tier one teams, like OG.
They capped off the series with another Io carry from ana and a powerful Gyrocopter from Topson. And with their epic dominant win, OG gets crowned as The International 2019 champions, winning over $15 million earnings!
What can you say about the convincing victory of OG at The International 2019? Do you think they can repeat this on the next world cup or will we see a new champion born? Share us your thoughts on the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
