Great news for SEA fans! One of the biggest Dota 2 organizers, ESL One, will be expanding its domain from Europe to SEA this 2019!

ESL One and ESL Asia announced that they will continue expanding their reach to Southeast Asia. In support to the SEA fans, ESL will deliver a new series of Dota 2 National Championships this time.

The project is dubbed as ESL National Championship 2019. It will involve four online qualifiers, namely for Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. ESL Asia aims to be a stepping stone for amateurs and aspiring players to be discovered and go pro in their Dota 2 career. Since the Dota 2 community in Southeast Asia is ever-growing, they want to take this opportunity to build the gap between the West and East regions, especially SEA.

“Southeast Asia represents an expansive market filled with growth potential and some of the best teams in the region. We truly believe our approach can help facilitate more SEA players into the international esports scene, creating a true Zero to Hero story for the region.”

Nick Vanzetti, Senior Vice President of ESL Asia-Pacific Japan

It will feature the top 8 best teams from the four regions as they compete for the lion’s share of the $12,000 USD prize pool. Top 2 teams who qualify from each region will then advance to the main event. Aside from that, the online season will happen weekly from April to May.

The qualifiers schedules are as follow:
