Make way because Activision hands us Call of Duty: Mobile, the answer to our daily dosage of warfare action!
Call of Duty stands the test of time as one of the best first-person shooter franchise of all time in PC and console. But now, they get down and dirty as they bring the action to mobile phones, worldwide!
The announcement of this project was made months ago. Back in March 2019. And it’s finally here! Sure, it did spark some interest for both long-time and new players. Especially for those who are always on the go. But the big question is, is it yay or nay?
First of all, the accessibility. People do take their time and resources to get an available copy of the game. Regardless if it’s on PC or console. But now that they’ve gone mobile, the opportunities are endless. Waiting in line, go shoot some bad guys in COD: Mobile. Shopping with your significant other, go party with the boys. Sky is the limit!
And Call of Duty isn’t an all-time favorite for nothing. They’ve added a few new game modes for everyone to choose from. You can choose from three different match types, normal, ranked or private. For Multiplayer games, you get too choose among Free-For-All, Frontline, Hardpoint, Domination and Team Deathmatch.
All of them follows the same game mechanics that COD has established in its franchise. Team-based gameplay with 5 players on each team. But Free-For-All is where it’s every man for himself. They even have a separate Battle Royale mode like Fortnite but similar to COD: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode. On Team Deathmatch, on the other hand, it allows up to 8 players in a team to participate.
That’s not all! Some of the all-time favorite multiplayer maps are also available. This includes Crash (Modern Warfare series), Nuketown (Black Ops) and Hijacked (Black Ops 2). According to reports, more multiplayer maps and characters will be revealed soon.
Well, the downside would just be how gameplay settings itself. Touch controls can give you a hard time playing. Unlike if you’re playing it on a console or on a PC. COD: Mobile gives you an overall view of yourself and the game. The weapons you have, the map, your team and everything else. It can be tedious to touch them all at once while firing or running or manoeuvring from the gunfires.
But, hey, you’ll get used to it eventually. And it’s a lot easier to turn around and run!
Overall, Call of Duty: Mobile provides us a new gaming experience for COD fans and new players alike. The learning curve of the game isn’t that steep, so there’s no need to worry in sucking at the game. If you’re a fan of the game, then this would be a new way to test your skills, mobile phone style. Activision isn’t just making hits and misses in their first mobile game attempt. So we’re pretty sure that Call of Duty: Mobile has a lot in store in the next coming updates. Call of Duty: Mobile is now available in Android and iOS platform for free!
