The fight is on! Ranida Games’ Bayani: Kanino Ka Kakampi sets to launch this coming Independence Day!
Following their successful Kickstarter campaign, Ranida Games announced the Steam Early Access release date of Bayani: Kanino Ka Kakampi on PC. According to the all-Filipino game development team, it will be available on Steam on June 12, 2019.
The 1-on-1 indie fighting game, Bayani presents a Philippine history and mythology-inspired parallel world. And of course, that includes the characters, settings and story. Just like your favorite fighting games, it features a simplified 6-button control system. But for Bayani, it’s a combination of 2D fighting gameplay and full-on 3D graphics.
It’s designed to be an easy-to-pick-up yet diffucult-to-master fighting game for all kinds of players. Even so, the game still possesses characteristics of a game viable for competitive play. As a matter of fact, Ranida Games is working with 2012 EVO World Cup of Fighting Games champion, Ryan “Fchamp” Ramirez with this project.
Steam Early Access features
So far, Bayani has introduced eight playable characters. All of them are based on notable Philippine historical figures. It includes the following:
-Joe (Jose Rizal)
-Tonio (Antonio Luna)
-Leon (Emilio Aguinaldo)
-Dre (Andres Bonifacio)
-Rio (Apolinario Mabini)
-Oria ( Oriana De Jesus)
-Lola Tsorang (Tandang Sora)
-Fernando (Ferdinand Magellan)
But for the Early Access version, it will only include four playable characters. There will be 3 game modes available (arcade, versus and training), 4 game stages and 8 original background music. Furthermore, all early access Steam buyers will be entitled to the base game version of Bayani once fully released. That’s 9 characters with an additional story mode, costumes, game stages and background music at no additional cost.
According to Ranida Games, a mobile and console version of Bayani will be coming soon as well. On a side note, an arcade box version to be published by EXA Arcadia of Japan will be released once the base game is complete.
