Today has got the be one of Dota 2’s biggest moments yet with the ‘Outlanders’ update. But the most surprising news of all is that 3 of our favorite items in the game have made a comeback!
Aside from new heroes, revamped maps, and WTF updates, the one we felt most excited about is Valve bringing back 3 missed items from Dota 2. Upon seeing Iron Talon, Poor Man’s Shield, and Ring of Aquila back in action, we can’t help but feel nostalgic. Aren’t you?!
So for those of you who’re just new to the Dota 2 scene, these 3 items were taken out of the game a few years back. But don’t worry though! Luckily, we’re giving you a short refresher on these items. Check them out right here:
This handy item is best for melee heroes who intend to farm in the jungle such as Legion Commander, Bloodseeker, Lifestealer, etc. Players can use it against neutral creeps and remove 40% of its current HP. Furthermore, it can be also used to destroy trees, wards, or even last hit against difficult enemies in the laning phase.
Poor Man’s Shield
So before we start, we’d just like to offer a prayer for the Dota 2 item, Stout Shield, after being replaced by Poor Man’s Shield. Poor Man’s Shield is another go-to item for junglers as it grants a 100% chance for melee heroes to block 20 damage from enemy heroes. While blocks 10 damage on ranged heroes. And has a 50% chance to block damage from creeps. It’s recommended especially for fragile melee heroes who need a little support in the early game.
Ring of Aquila
Last but not least, we have Ring of Aquila! Who could forget this with its feature of giving 0.5 mana regeneration and 2 armor to nearby allies. It’s mostly used by mid heroes. During the early game, the aura is toggled off for a more effective laning phase.
But here’s a quick catch in regards to these items. Before, you can purchase them directly from the shop. But in the Outlanders update, they’re now considered as neutral items which are basically unique items that are dropped by neutral creeps upon death and cannot be sold, however, they can be shared with allies. There are a total of 62 unique items divided into five tiers.
