Are you ready for the next-gen Five Nights at Freddy’s?

While the release of PlayStation 5 this November is one of this year’s highlights in the gaming world, what doubles the excitement is the growing number of titles revealed to be on their way to the upcoming next-generation console.

We’re sure you’re very familiar with Five Nights At Freddy’s– that revolutionary indie horror game that centers on the fictional Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Developed and published by Scott Cawthon for Microsoft Windows in 2014, the game has expanded into a media franchise, spawning sequels, prequels, and spin-offs for various gaming platforms.

This 2020, a brand-new FNaF title is about to give you the creeps. Revealed by Sony during a recent PlayStation 5 press event, Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach will bring you back to Freddy Fazbear’s spooky pizza universe. It was announced that the game is slated to launch on PS5, PS4, and PC.

It’s bigger than ever.

According to the official blog announcement by Sony, Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach is a project between Steel Wool Studios and ScottGames, who are taking the franchise to a new level. While the mechanics will pretty much remain the same– in which a player must survive five increasingly terrifying and dangerous nights at a pizza place– Security Breach won’t just take place in a small store. Instead, the events of this game will happen inside the massive Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex. While the usual areas like the kitchen, dining area, and the carnival-themed play area will be there, we can expect that this new setting will be the biggest one in the series so far.

The announcement also mentions new “friends.” Yep, they’ve said it with quotation marks, so we can interpret it as a representation of something that’s certainly not the good, friendly guys. New villains? That’s more likely it.

On top of it all, Security Breach is now getting the touch of avant-garde gaming technology. In terms of animations, visuals, and the overall immersive experience enhanced by PS5’s 3D audio, this will be the most realistic and scariest game in the franchise.
