Your favorite bandicoot is set for an exciting comeback… on mobile!
Early this year, we’ve had leaks hinting about the famous platform series by Activision possibly making the great leap on mobile. Apparently, they’re true: we just got the announcement that the classic marsupial title will be arriving on Android and iOS devices in the near future. This is the perfect opportunity to get your fill of your favorite bandicoot while you wait for Crash Bandicoot 4‘s launch on October 2nd this year.
Activision has worked with King, the video game developing company behind Candy Crush, to make this one happen. Crash Bandicoot: On The Run will be the title of the mobile spinoff, and it’s gonna be a mix of platforming and the endless runner format.
In other words, On The Run will feature familiar mechanics we’ve grown to love about the Crash series such as the jumping, bouncing off things, and collecting Wumpa Fruits but it’s gonna be a never-ending, action-packed running adventure (Remember Temple Run? Subway Surfer?). Dr. Neo Cortex will also be back as the main antagonist.
On the Run also teases a feature that enables players to craft gadgets and weapons like bazooka guns. It will also include a multiplayer feature where players can go on “asynchronous runs” with their friends.
No official release date has been announced yet, but you can preorder as early as now to get an exclusive blue hyena skin for Crash.
