Fornite players are honoring the king.
Fortnite players are paying their respects to Chadwick Boseman at a recently added in-game Black Panther statue. Called Panther’s Bowl, the statue is part of Fortnite’s crossover season with Marvel, and it was put there just a few days after Boseman’s passing due to colon cancer on August 28.
“As with the rest of the world, we were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of actor Chadwick Boseman,” said an Epic Games spokesperson. However, they made it clear that the statue was not added in response to Boseman’s death. “The Black Panther monument arrived this morning as part of a previously-planned narrative for the new Chapter 2 Season 4 season.”
Panther’s Bowl is found west of Misty Meadows. On the map, you can find it as an area with a glowing ring around it. To amplify the Black Panther ambiance, players near the statue can also hear music similar to the film soundtrack.
A tribute to the king
Players have been breaking the game’s rule of killing one another to win once they stop by the Black Panther monument. They just roam around and interact with the people who are supposed to be their enemies. Some of them have recorded this wholesome gamer moment and shared the clip on Reddit and Twitter.

Fortnite’s cross-over season with Marvel began last week. Panther’s Bowl marks the third Marvel-themed addition on the landscape, following Ant-Man’s Ant Manor and a TRASK prison transport from X-Men. Players can expect more Marvel items over the next few days.
The first-ever black Superhelo lead, Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of King T’Challa is considered a crucial moment in MCU history. Black Panther is also one of the most commercially and critically successful MCU films.
