If you’ve opted to stay in Manila for the long ASEAN weekend, here’s a little something that will make you want to bare the traffic: the ASEAN Music Festival! The Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN and the ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council has partnered up with Ayala Land to host this free gig happening on November 14, 2017 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati.

Know Before You Go

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is celebrating its 50th year with Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam as members. ASEAN aims to accelerate economic growth, social progress, and sociocultural evolution for its member countries while protecting their regional stability and creating a space for them to resolve differences in a peaceful manner.

ASEAN Music Festival

While the country leaders are busy planning moves for their countries, we can enjoy the three-day weekend with music from our very own local acts and other Asian music icons. The ASEAN Music Festival lineup includes Parokya Ni Edgar, Franco, Silent Sanctuary, <S>andwich, The Ransom Collective, and Ben&Ben. Asia 7 of Thailand, Nading Rhapsody of Malaysia, Nimith and Sophea of Cambodia, Sack Cells of Laos, Eint Chit of Myanmar, Mia Ismi Halida of Indonesia, Tuan Anh of Vietnam, and D’Hask of Brunei Darussalem will be performing alongside our local favorites.

This event is a great way to show cooperation between its member countries and celebration of different cultures! Language is simply a barrier; music is a universal language that we are all more than capable of understanding. Let’s show support for our neighboring Asian acts and make them feel welcomed in the Philippines. After all, hospitality is what Filipinos are known for, right?

The ASEAN Music Festival will kick off at 7:00 PM at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati City. Admission is absolutely free. See you there!
