UPDATE: Joji and Higher Brothers will be joining Rich Chigga in Manila! Ticket prices fall at PHP3,500 for Early Bird and PHP4,500 for Regular.

“Dat $tick” viral sensation turned full-fledged hip hop artist Rich Chigga will be stopping by Manila on December 13, 2017 at House Manila. This marks 88rising and Chigga’s first ever performance in the Philippines.

Make Fanny Packs Cool Again

Brian Imanuel started his social media career by photoshopping images and posting them on Twitter. He moved forward to posting original dark comedy video content, and then settling on Vine at the age of 15. His first taste of hip hop came from a friend’s suggestion of Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop” and his interest began from there. As the child of Chinese-Indonesian parents and living in Jakarta, Chigga didn’t speak English very well; he learnt via YouTube and listening to rappers such as Childish Gambino, 2 Chainz, and Tyler, The Creator.

When his debut single “Dat $tick” went viral, it caught the attention of the international scene. Part of the success came from the track’s irony—imagine an Asian kid wearing a fanny pack, surrounded by members of his posse holding fake guns and pouring alcohol on the side walk. However, there’s no denying the kid’s talent. He can turn from agile to aggressive in a span of seconds while keeping the flow in tact. Chigga might continue to bring a side of irony in his music, but that cherry on top of his impressive musicality makes him a standout rapper. While touring the United States, he’s been staying in Los Angeles recording his debut studio album. BTW, he’s only 18.

Live in Manila

88rising’s nine-date Asia tour will be covering Korea, China, Thailand, ZoukOut Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia for Rich Chigga’s homecoming. He’ll be joined by fellow 88rising artists Higher Brothers and Joji for all the tour dates except for, sadly, Manila. Ticket prices are yet to be announced. See you guys on December 13 at House Manila! Don’t forget to wear your fanny packs.
