Tennessee rock trio Paramore are set to return to Manila this 2018 in support of their fifth studio album “After Laughter”. We’ll be seeing Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, and Taylor York light up the SM Mall of Asia Arena on February 18, 2018.

Paramore Is (Still) a Band.

Paramore began as a four-piece band in 2004 with Hayley Williams on vocals, Jeremy Davis on bass, and brothers Josh and Zac Farro on guitar and drums respectively. Jason Bynum, Williams’ neighbor, took up the rhythm guitar a bit later on. Although Williams was originally signed to Atlantic Records as a solo artist, she made it very clear that she didn’t want to become a Top 40 pop princess—she wanted to make alternative rock music with a band. Atlantic agreed to her wishes and signed them to the Fueled by Ramen niche label.

They released five studio albums: “All We Know Is Falling” in 2005, “Riot!” in 2007, “Brand New Eyes” in 2009, “Paramore” in 2013, and “After Laughter” in 2017. Despite the major success they’ve received throughout the decade, their internal problems have caused the band major lineup changes and lawsuits. The Farro brothers left in December 2010 with Josh Farro posting some harsh words about the band—Williams in particular—and their false success. In late 2015, Davis left the band for the second time (the first before “Riot!” due to his “lack of work ethic”) and underwent a legal battle with Williams and York in early 2016. They eventually reached a settlement in May this year.

Even with the hardships, Paramore continued and saw the return of Zac Farro as their full-time drummer earlier this year. They released “After Laughter” in May with positive responses from both fans and critics alike. Paramore’s fighting spirit lives on for another album cycle, marking Williams’ words from seven years ago:
